Lumenos Plans At-A-Glance

California residents can enroll in one of three Lumenos plans:

  • Lumenos HSA — This Health Savings Account plan lets you save tax-free money to pay for your healthcare. And as long as you spend your HSA funds on qualified medical expenses, you won’t pay taxes on the withdrawals, either. Your money earns interest, and any funds you don't spend at the end of the year will carry over to your account for the next year.
  • Lumenos HIA — The Lumenos Health Incentive Account plan gives you a Blue Cross-sponsored account to help pay for your healthcare. Funds are added to your account by Blue Cross as a reward for participating in wellness programs, such as their weight management program.
  • Lumenos HIA Plus — The Health Incentive Account Plus plan also rewards you for healthy decisions, but adds an extra benefit. When you enroll in this plan, Blue Cross will add an extra $500 a year to your account ($1,000 for families). The extra money is contributed to your account every 3 months.

Once you meet your deductible, the Lumenos plans include 100% coverage for many healthcare needs, including visits to your doctor, inpatient hospital services, prescription drugs, and maternity care.

Before you’ve paid your deductible, Lumenos will give you 100% coverage on many preventive care services. For adults, these services include:

  • Routine doctor visits
  • Screening tests for coronary artery disease, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, diabetes, and osteoporosis
  • Mammograms, pelvic exams, Pap tests, and contraceptive management
  • Immunizations for Hepatitis A and B, Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (Whooping cough), Varicella (chicken pox), Influenza (flu shot), Pneumonia, and Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)

For children, covered preventive care services include:

  • Routine doctor visits
  • Screening tests for vision, hearing, and lead exposure
  • Pelvic exams, Pap tests, and contraceptive management for females who are 18 years old, or have been sexually active
  • Immunizations for mmunizations for Hepatitis A and B, Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (Whooping cough), Varicella (chicken pox), Influenza (flu shot), Influenza type B, pneumonia, and Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), Polio, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella

Remember: Lumenos covers these services before you’ve met your deductible.
The deductible on a Lumenos plan ranges from $1,500 – $5,000 for individuals, and $3,000 – $10,000 on family plans. After you've paid your deductible, you'll enjoy 100% coverage when you receive care from any of the 50,000 doctors and hospitals in the Blue Cross network.

Even before you’ve met your deductible, you'll save money as a Blue Cross member. Because Blue Cross negotiates for lower fees with care providers, your cost is substantially less than the doctor or hospital would normally charge. And with Lumenos you'll have healthcare funds to help pay for those those costs.

  • With the Lumenos HSA Plan, you'll get a Health Savings Account to help you pay for your healthcare. Any money you deposit in your HSA reduces your taxable income — so you pay less in taxes. You can use the money in your HSA for almost any health-related expense.
  • With the Lumenos HIA Plan,Blue Cross will give you money to spend on healthcare when you take advantage of weight management, smoking cessation, and other wellness programs.
  • With the Lumenos HIA Plus Plan, Blue Cross will give you an extra $500 a year ($1,000 if you're enrolled in a family plan) to spend on healthcare. You’ll also get rewarded when you participate in wellness programs.
